{"id":2161,"date":"2011-09-01T08:02:00","date_gmt":"2011-09-01T08:02:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/transintersexhistory.africa\/?p=2161"},"modified":"2025-08-07T14:58:54","modified_gmt":"2025-08-07T12:58:54","slug":"transintersexhistory-africa-september-2011-african-presence-at-the-first-international-intersex-forum","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/transintersexhistory.africa\/transintersexhistory-africa-september-2011-african-presence-at-the-first-international-intersex-forum\/","title":{"rendered":"September 2011 \u2014 African Presence at the First International Intersex Forum"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The first International Intersex Forum, organised by ILGA and ILGA-Europe, took place in Belgium in September 2011. 24 Activists representing 17 intersex organisations from all continents were present, including<em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.astraeafoundation.org\/stories\/intersex-south-africa-issk\/\"> <\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/transintersexhistory.africa\/the-first-african-intersex-organisation-formed-south-africa\/\">Intersex Society South Africa (ISSA)<\/a><\/em>\u2019s Sally Gross, who was also the correspondent for Africa.
