En avril 2016, Synergie Trans B\u00e9nin (STB) a \u00e9t\u00e9 cr\u00e9\u00e9e. Premi\u00e8re organisation trans nationale au B\u00e9nin, elle \u0153uvre pour les droits et le d\u00e9veloppement des personnes transgenres dans le pays. STB est une organisation communautaire bas\u00e9e \u00e0 Cotonou, au B\u00e9nin, issue de la fusion de deux associations regroupant des femmes transgenres (ACCEPTST BENIN) et des hommes transgenres (AFSP). Leur mission est de mieux faire conna\u00eetre les besoins et les r\u00e9alit\u00e9s des communaut\u00e9s noires d’Afrique francophone.

In April 2016, Synergie Trans Benin \/ Synergy Trans Benin (STB) was established as the first national trans organisation in Benin, intervening for the rights and development of trans people in the country. STB is a community-based organisation headquartered in Cotonou, Benin, formed from the merger of two associations bringing together transgender women (ACCEPTST BENIN) and transgender men (AFSP). They campaign to increase the visibility of the needs and realities experienced in Black communities of French-Africa (Francophone Africa)<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La vision \/ Vision<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

STB a pour objectif de contribuer \u00e0 la visibilit\u00e9 et \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9panouissement des personnes trans au B\u00e9nin et dans la r\u00e9gion, de mettre en lumi\u00e8re la vuln\u00e9rabilit\u00e9 sp\u00e9cifique des personnes trans pour permettre leur inclusion dans les politiques de sant\u00e9, et de mener des actions de plaidoyer pour d\u00e9fendre les droits des populations les plus vuln\u00e9rables, notamment celles qui subissent des violences en raison de leur identit\u00e9 de genre et celles vivant avec le VIH\/SIDA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le STB m\u00e8ne des activit\u00e9s de sensibilisation et de d\u00e9pistage du VIH\/SIDA, propose des groupes d’entraide et suit les cas de violence et de violation des droits. Il \u0153uvre \u00e9galement \u00e0 l’insertion sociale et professionnelle des jeunes victimes de rejet familial.

STB aims to contribute to the visibility and development of trans people in Benin and the surrounding region, to highlight the specific vulnerability of trans people to enable their inclusion in health policies, and to conduct advocacy actions to defend the rights of the most vulnerable populations, particularly those experiencing violence due to their gender identity and those living with HIV\/AIDS.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

STB conducts HIV\/AIDS awareness and screening activities, offers self-support groups, and monitors cases of violence and violations of rights. It also works to promote the social and professional integration of peers who are victims of family rejection.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
