TREAT\u2019s mission is to inform and transform attitudes and address injustice and inequalities faced by the trans diverse population in Zimbabwe. After <a href=\"https:\/\/transintersexhistory.africa\/rikki-nathanson-a-trans-woman-sues-police-and-others-zimbabwe\/\">being arrested <\/a>under charges such as criminal nuisance for using the \u201cwrong\u201d bathrooms in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, Bulawayo, Rikki Nathanson realised the huge gap in the general public\u2019s ignorance and miseducation about gender, transgender and gender diverse people.&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.losangelesblade.com\/2019\/11\/18\/zimbabwe-judge-issues-landmark-transgender-rights-ruling\/\">Rikki relocated to the US, claiming asylum<\/a>.&nbsp;Sam Ndlovu has been the Executive Director of TREAT since 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"835\" height=\"756\" src=\"https:\/\/transintersexhistory.africa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/treat-logo-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2950\" style=\"width:925px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/transintersexhistory.africa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/treat-logo-1.jpg 835w, https:\/\/transintersexhistory.africa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/treat-logo-1-300x272.jpg 300w, https:\/\/transintersexhistory.africa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/treat-logo-1-768x695.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 835px) 100vw, 835px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Vision<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">TREAT is an initiative that seeks to address the rights issues in the education, advocacy and training about and to, the basic violations of the human rights of the trans* diverse and gender non-conforming population of Zimbabwe.
