Include your African trans, gender diverse and\/or intersex organisation\/group<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Dear Comrades,<\/strong><\/p>\n

We value the important work you do and we would love to have your organisation\/group be part of this project, which is the first and only record of the histories\/herstories\/theirstories of our movements and moments on our continent.\u00a0PLEASE NOTE: Your organisation\/group does not need to be registered in your country in order to be included, as we’re aware that country-specific laws often make registration difficult or impossible.\u00a0

<\/span><\/p>\n

Why add your group\/organisation to our archive?<\/b><\/span><\/h4>\n

Joining our archival project would not only preserve the work your organisation\/group has done and currently does in the first of its kind archive of African trans, gender diverse and intersex history and advocacy, but it also provided another platform for community members in your country to become aware of the services you provide. Being part of the archive also serves as a movement building and movement strengthening tool, connecting African organisations with each other. An entry about your organisation would look like\u00a0this<\/b><\/a>, for example.<\/p>\n

Also, please feel free to contact us at any stage about moments in the histories\/herstories\/theirstories of the trans, gender diverse and intersex movements between 1950 and 2023 that we have not yet included in our archive. A<\/strong>bout the Trans & Intersex History Africa (TIHA) digital archive:<\/b><\/h4>\n

The Trans & Intersex History Africa (TIHA) digital archive is a space where African activists share our archival collections, memories, reflections and facts. Using a timeline of events, contributions include the founding dates of the early trans, gender diverse and intersex organisations\/groups, as well as individuals’ accomplishments in law and politics, and in sport, art, music and other private domains, along with contributions towards positive change for trans, gender diverse and intersex struggles for our human rights on the continent.\u00a0<\/span>Read more.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

Please copy and paste these questions into an email and send your answers along with required logo and photo attachments to research@transintersexhistory.africa<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

Before you answer the questions, please be aware that your organisation\/group needs to have trans, gender diverse and\/or intersex advocacy as its main focus, or that it needs to have significant projects that are aimed at trans, gender diverse and\/or intersex people. If your organistion\/group has such projects, could you also please indicate since when you’ve had these projects and go into detail about these projects in your answer to these questions.<\/strong><\/p>\n
