He is the author of several media articles on the human rights of Intersex children and people in Uganda and has facilitated a number of national, regional, and international workshops on the rights of intersex and gender variant people. He led the Uganda Civil Society Coalition on Human Rights and Constitutional law for the first phase of its existence and was at the forefront of the campaign against the A<a href=\"https:\/\/transintersexhistory.africa\/anti-homosexuality-bill-draft-introduced\/\">nti-Homosexuality Bill<\/a> tabled in Uganda\u2019s parliament in October 2009. He testified before the US congress and did extensive advocacy in Uganda, Kenya, the US, South Africa, and Europe on the human rights implications of the Bill.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As a first generation African Intersex activist, Julius was part of the founding team for the coalition, <a href=\"https:\/\/transintersexhistory.africa\/formation-of-a-3-organisation-coalition-transitioning-africa-ta\/\"><strong><em>Transitioning Africa<\/em><\/strong><\/a>, that initiated, facilitated, and strengthened the growth of both Intersex and transgender organising in East and Southern Africa in the early 2010s.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Julius continues to contribute to intersex movement building in Africa and Asia and has been at the forefront of African Intersex leadership development, which led the collective action that formed the <em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/transintersexhistory.africa\/june-2019-the-birth-of-the-african-intersex-movement-aim-kenya\/\">African Intersex Movement (AIM)<\/a><\/strong><\/em>.
