{"id":2132,"date":"2010-06-01T14:45:00","date_gmt":"2010-06-01T14:45:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/transintersexhistory.africa\/?p=2132"},"modified":"2025-10-03T18:34:05","modified_gmt":"2025-10-03T16:34:05","slug":"first-inter-continental-trans-and-intersex-advocacy-meeting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/transintersexhistory.africa\/first-inter-continental-trans-and-intersex-advocacy-meeting\/","title":{"rendered":"June 2010 \u2014 First Inter-Continental Trans and Intersex Advocacy Meeting"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">June 2010 \u2014 First Inter-Continental Trans and Intersex Advocacy Meeting<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><a href=\"https:\/\/gate.ngo\/\">Global Action for Trans Equality (GATE)<\/a><\/em> organised the first of its kind, international trans and intersex advocacy meeting in Barcelona, Spain, with participants from all regions and all continents in June 2010. The meeting consisted of 2 parts. June 1\u20133 was the Trans* Action = Trans* Rights pre-conference, followed by the International Congress on Gender Identity and Human Rights from June 4 to 6.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This platform created the ideal space for <a href=\"https:\/\/transintersexhistory.africa\/gabrielle-le-roux\/\">Gabrielle Le Roux <\/a>and the participants of the \u201cProudly African and Transgender\u201d project to create art, where Gabrielle drew some of the trans and intersex activists from Africa in a live setting.
