(In Sotho, \u00ab\u00a0Kopano\u00a0\u00bb means \u00ab\u00a0a gathering to address an important issue\u00a0\u00bb). This first conference&rsquo;s theme was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=W9AWMHz3Ifs&amp;list=PLBa5O_6R0VGiRyoUFnc2kqRN2mHrl_AFc\">\u00ab\u00a0Freedom for All\u00a0\u00bb<\/a>, and provided a platform for activists, thinkers, human rights defenders from Angola, Botswana, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Seychelles, South Africa, Swaziland, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. During this two-day gathering people across identities, lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and intersex could dialogue and grapple with social topics.
