{"id":2099,"date":"2008-12-27T07:20:00","date_gmt":"2008-12-27T07:20:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/transintersexhistory.africa\/?p=2099"},"modified":"2026-02-18T15:47:20","modified_gmt":"2026-02-18T13:47:20","slug":"december-2008-proudly-african-transgender-south-africa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/transintersexhistory.africa\/december-2008-proudly-african-transgender-south-africa\/","title":{"rendered":"December 2008 \u2014 Proudly African &amp; Transgender Art Collaboration Emerged, South Africa"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">December 2008 \u2014 Proudly African &amp; Transgender Art Collaboration Emerged, South Africa<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the <a href=\"https:\/\/transintersexhistory.africa\/december-2008-eastern-and-southern-african-trans-gender-identity-institute-south-africa\/\">Eastern and Southern African Trans\/Gender Identity Institute workshop<\/a> hosted in Cape Town in December 2008,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thami-mnyele.nl\/Artists\/Gabrielle+Le+Rouxbb653bb.php\">Gabrielle Le Roux<\/a> collaborated with <a href=\"https:\/\/transintersexhistory.africa\/victor-mukasa\/\">Victor Mukasa<\/a> and the other individual activists by drawing portraits of ten sub-Saharan African trans and intersex activists. Each person wrote a personal activism message on their own portrait.
