Elles ont \u00e9t\u00e9 forc\u00e9es de se d\u00e9shabiller, puis battues et vol\u00e9es. L&#8217;agression a \u00e9t\u00e9 film\u00e9e par les agresseurs et partag\u00e9e sur les r\u00e9seaux sociaux. Les femmes ont d\u00e9clar\u00e9 \u00e0 Amnesty International que l&#8217;agression avait \u00e9t\u00e9 planifi\u00e9e par une personne qu&#8217;elles pensaient \u00eatre leur amie. Le tribunal de premi\u00e8re instance de Cotonou a condamn\u00e9 l&#8217;un des auteurs \u00e0 12 mois de prison.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>In April 2021, three trans women, Kani, Fati and Jennifer, were attacked by a group of men in a bar in Cotonou, Benin. The women were forced to strip naked and then beaten and robbed. The attack was filmed by the attackers and shared on social media. The women told Amnesty International that the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amnesty.org\/en\/latest\/news\/2021\/05\/benin-threat-on-transgender-people-and-their-defenders\/\">attack was planned<\/a> by someone they thought was their friend. The Cotonou Court of First Instance sentenced one of the perpetrators to 12 months in prison.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fabien Offner, chercheur sur l&#8217;Afrique de l&#8217;Ouest \u00e0 Amnesty International, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading has-vivid-cyan-blue-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-b6c8356e7c8d667c22292645e3302ce3\">\u00ab Cette derni\u00e8re attaque constitue une violation flagrante des droits consacr\u00e9s par la Charte africaine des droits de l\u2019homme et des peuples et par la Constitution du B\u00e9nin, auxquels tout individu a droit. \u00bb<\/h5>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Amnesty International&#8217;s West Africa Researcher, Fabien Offner, said<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading has-vivid-cyan-blue-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-9918bdd5953e6af8438a7cb57d82ee9e\"><em>&#8220;This latest attack is a clear violation of the rights enshrined in the African Charter on Human and Peoples\u2019 Rights and the Constitution of Benin, to which all individuals are entitled.&#8221;<\/em><\/h5>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ce n&#8217;est pas la seule agression contre des femmes transgenres au B\u00e9nin recens\u00e9e par Amnesty International. Selon l&#8217;article de l&#8217;organisation sur cette agression et les suivantes\u00a0:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dans son rapport 2020-2021 sur la situation des droits humains au B\u00e9nin, la Commission b\u00e9ninoise des droits humains a qualifi\u00e9 la situation des personnes LGBTI dans le pays de \u00ab pr\u00e9occupante \u00bb et a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 que des \u00ab agressions physiques et sexuelles, des d\u00e9tentions arbitraires, des actes de torture et des traitements inhumains et d\u00e9gradants \u00bb avaient \u00e9t\u00e9 inflig\u00e9s aux personnes LGBTIQ+ ces derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading has-vivid-cyan-blue-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-5abb3b6956b99f02e7c75a193eef51e8\">\u00ab Les personnes LGBTI sont souvent victimes de violences et de menaces au B\u00e9nin, et ce malgr\u00e9 des avanc\u00e9es significatives ces derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es, comme la d\u00e9p\u00e9nalisation des relations entre personnes de m\u00eame sexe dans le code p\u00e9nal du pays en 2018.<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading has-vivid-cyan-blue-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-c7068bbaa734b53bd2b5b78f97251051\">Au B\u00e9nin, les personnes LGBTI sont souvent victimes de violences et de menaces. Et ce, malgr\u00e9 d&#8217;importantes avanc\u00e9es ces derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es, comme la d\u00e9p\u00e9nalisation des relations entre personnes de m\u00eame sexe dans le Code p\u00e9nal du pays en 2018.\u00bb<\/h5>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><a href=\"https:\/\/transintersexhistory.africa\/4-february-2022-police-accused-of-violent-attack-of-trans-woman-benin\/\">This is not the only attack on trans women in Benin documented by Amnesty International<\/a>. According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amnesty.org\/en\/latest\/news\/2022\/03\/benin-police-accused-of-violently-attacking-transgender-woman\/\">the article<\/a> by the organisation about this and later attacks,<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading has-vivid-cyan-blue-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-f2a866983ad62103327a61d09eb0a2be\"><em>&#8220;In its 2020-2021 report on the state of human rights in Benin, the Beninese Human Rights Commission described the situation for LGBTI people in the country as \u201cworrying\u201d and said \u201cphysical and sexual assaults, arbitrary detention, torture and inhuman and degrading treatment\u201d had all been inflicted on LGBTIQ+ people in recent years.<\/em><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading has-vivid-cyan-blue-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-ac3efc61490d2857b4da00f1c8a0a324\"><em>LGBTI people are often victims of violence and threats in Benin. This is despite significant progressive developments in Benin in recent years, such as the decriminalization of same-sex relationships in the country\u2019s penal code in 2018.&#8221;<\/em><\/h5>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.amnesty.org\/en\/latest\/news\/2021\/05\/benin-threat-on-transgender-people-and-their-defenders\/\">Les organisations de d\u00e9fense des droits LGBTI au B\u00e9nin qui soutenaient les femmes ont re\u00e7u des menaces<\/a>, le pr\u00e9sident et fondateur de l&#8217;une des organisations ayant re\u00e7u des menaces de mort et de viol apr\u00e8s avoir publi\u00e9 une vid\u00e9o appelant \u00e0 la justice pour l&#8217;agression des femmes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amnesty.org\/en\/latest\/news\/2021\/05\/benin-threat-on-transgender-people-and-their-defenders\/\">LGBTI rights organisations in Benin who supported the women received threats<\/a>, with the president and founder of one of the organisations receiving death and rape threats after posting a video calling for justice for the womens&#8217; assault.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>30 April 2021 \u2014 3 femmes trans agress\u00e9es \u00e0 Cotonou \/ 3 Trans Women Attacked in Cotonou, Benin En avril 2021, trois femmes transgenres, Kani, Fati et Jennifer, ont \u00e9t\u00e9 agress\u00e9es par un groupe d&#8217;hommes dans un bar de Cotonou, au B\u00e9nin.
