Founded in 2020, Cairo 52 Legal Research Institute primarily targets transgender and gender-diverse individuals, alongside the broader LGBTQ+ community and sex workers in the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) region. Their efforts are particularly focused on those experiencing intersectional discrimination based on gender identity, sexual orientation, and choices related to bodily autonomy. Since the group’s establishment, they have implemented targeted projects for the community, including the “Trans Clinic,” which provides medical support, and a strategic litigation initiative for “Legal Gender Recognition.” The organisation’s operational base is in Egypt\/MENA region, and its registration base is in Estonia. It was registered on 26 June 2023 in Estonia due to security concerns in Egypt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
