As a result of an organisational strategic planning meeting, Gender Dynamix (GDX) resigned from Transitioning Africa (TA) on 7 August 2014. Not long thereafter, Transitioning Africa dissolved.

On 31 August 2012, Transitioning Africa (TA), the coalition between South Africa’s Gender DynamiX (GDX) and Transgender and Intersex Africa (TIA), and a partner organisation in East Africa released a call for a coordinator, as the three respective organisations agreed that it was time to dedicate more energy to the coalition.
