GALA and Gender DynamiX launched “Trans – Transgender life stories from South Africa”, the first book of its kind on the continent. The 20th of November was selected as launch date, as that is the international Transgender Day of Rememberance (TDoR). The initial book launch took place in Cape Town, at the Whale Well, Iziko Museum in Cape Town. Over a 100 people attended the launch (both amount of people attending the launch and the number of book sales broke the record numbers according the the expectations of the publisher. Later in the same year, there were a launch in Johannesburg too. Famous Drag Artist Odidiva made a performance at the book launch in Cape Town. 

The book is out of print, however a free version is available on Amazon Kindle . Sister Namibia published this short review while the Mail & Guardian published the following article about the book.
