A trans man made history when he participated in the third South African Mr. Leather contest, and came out as trans, on stage during his speech. At the time of the contest, SA Leather’s Constitution stipulated that only cisgender and gay or bisexual men were allowed to participate. Subsequently SA Leather went through an organizational process at its following Annual General Meeting where members voted positively to amend the Constitution to include all sexual orientations, as well as all genders and gender identities.
