Transgender Equality Uganda is founded by Beyonce Amooti Karungi to create a safe space for trans women sex workers in Kampala, Uganda. TEU is founded, and led by trans women sex workers and their support and advocacy focus on trans feminine issues. Beyonce discussed in this short video clip, not only the issues of being a trans woman in Uganda but also how fundamentalist Christians, led by Scott Lively, literally brought hate speech and ideologies to Uganda, which also spurred the Anti-Homosexuality Bill.
