The workshop: Leadership Capacity Building Camp (LCBC) hosted by Transitioning Africa at the Safari Hotel in Nairobi was interrupted abruptly, as the hotel threatened the participants’ safety by manifesting transphobic attitudes. Activists had to flee from the hotel and the workshop could neither be continued nor completed (Gender DynamiX 2014).
