1 August 2022 — Publication of Trans Memoir, “Twee Lewens”, South Africa
Published on 1 August 2022, Elise Bishop’s “Twee Lewens” (Two Lives) became the third trans memoir to be published in South Africa, after “Always Anastacia: A Transgender Live in South Africa” by Anastacia Tomson, et Landa Mabenga’s “Becoming Him: A Trans Memoir of Triumph. “I Am Tshiamo: My Transition to Self-Acceptance and Womanhood” by Tshiamo Modisane was the fourth.
Elise Bishop was one of the first transgender South Africans to go public about her transition and gender affirmation surgery. The book is currently only available in Afrikaans. Lire la suite.
