2012 — Fem Alliance Uganda (FEMA) Founded, Uganda

Founded in 2012 by Jay Mulucha and another activist*, Fem Alliance Uganda (FEMA) works primarily with lesbian, bisexual, transgender and queer (LBTQ) persons and advocates for the rights, visibility, and inclusion of LBTQ persons through community empowerment, advocacy, and capacity building. The organisation was registered in 2012.

Visão

A stigma-free Uganda where LBTQ people can enjoy equal rights, human dignity, respect and social justice.

Missão

To promote human rights and restore the human dignity of LBTQ persons through education, personal development, advocacy and strategic partnerships.

Objectivos

  • To increase knowledge, information and advocate for human rights of LBTQ persons within the community.
  • To promote a well-coordinated, inter-dependent and strong network of LBTQ membership.
  • To develop the institutional capacity of FEMA to be able to fulfill its mandate.
  • To establish and maintain strategic partnerships with key allies and partners.
