2 February 2021 — Voice of Togetherness (VOT) Founded, Uganda
Founded on 2 February 2021 by Kanyesigye Gloria, Voice of Togetherness (VOT) is a grassroots non-profit organisation located in Mbarara City in western Uganda, and focuses on human rights awareness for intersex people. The organisation was registered on 12 December 2023. VOT’s primary focus is to raise awareness and educate Ugandans about Differences in Sex Development (DSD). Through a combination of media initiatives and community outreach programmes, the organisation strives to bring about positive change and engagement with intersex human rights issues within Ugandan society.

Vision
A Uganda where intersex persons are respected, supported, and empowered to live fulfilling lives, free from stigma and discrimination.
Mission
To empower intersex persons in the western region through advocating for their health, well-being, and rights by creating awareness about intersex needs through impactful media campaigns and community engagement, conducting research and documentation while fostering social support and economic employment.

Goal
To establish a network of comprehensive health services accessible to rural intersex individuals, including case identification, referrals, and psychosocial support, while concurrently conducting impactful media campaigns and community outreaches to raise awareness of intersex issues and rights in Uganda.
Objectives
- To promote access to comprehensive health services for intersex persons in the Ankole region, tailored to the specific needs.
- To empower intersex individuals.
- Capacity building and organisational development.
- Contribution to knowledge base, research initiatives, and knowledge sharing.
- To advocate for the rights of intersex persons through conducting initiatives, strategic partnerships, and networking.
