Images from a strategic training for healthcare workers facilitated by DHIA on October 23 and 24 2024, addressing crucial topics such as the diversity of biological sex. This initiative aimed not only to raise awareness but also to empower healthcare professionals to recognise and appropriately respond to the needs of the intersex population. During the sessions, DHIA explored principles of respect for diversity and inclusion in healthcare, promoting more equitable and inclusive practices.

The organisation’s approach focused on demystifying concepts and strengthening technical knowledge about innate variations in sexual characteristics, emphasising the importance of sensitive care grounded in human rights. DHIA encouraged partner organisations to join this mission of creating environments where every individual can have their voice heard, strengthening cohesion and the recognition of the specific needs of the intersex community within the healthcare system.

This was DHIA’s first workshop for a group of healthcare professionals.
