In August 2015, Crème de la Crème (CDLC), focusing on trans and non-binary rights, was founded in Nigeria. CDLC was registered on 18 September 2018. The organisation was founded by Ejiogu Franklin Chigozie, a non-binary person who led other trans persons to formulate the vision of the organisation.

Background

CDLC started as an in-house group in the year 2016, where they celebrated a pride event that had over 200 LGBTQI persons in attendance. Following this pride, the group acquired a Safe Shelter to help evacuate trans and non-binary persons who were in dire need of accommodation and gender-affirming treatment. The group extended the safety of the Shelter to other LGBTQI persons in need of shelter in Nigeria.

Vision

To see a well-informed trans society free of violence and marginalisation with highly responsible people making history in all works of life.

Mission

To contribute to the improvement of lives of the trans persons in Nigeria towards Access to healthcare Services, Rights. safety and education through strong Activism, advocacy, vocational training, and sensitisation.

Goal

To provide Safe Platforms where marginalised persons can be trained and empowered to give full expressions of their talents.
